My return deadlines

How it works
The last day is the start date plus the number of days in the return window. For example, a purchase on 10 December with a 30-day window gives 9 January. Some stores count the delivery date, some the purchase date, and some count the day of purchase as day one. If your store counts differently, move the start date by a day, or return early.
Things to check on the receipt or the store's page
- When the window starts: purchase date or delivery date.
- Whether the item must be unused and in its original packaging.
- Who pays for return shipping. Some stores charge a fee or a restocking fee.
- Exceptions: some categories, such as electronics, opened software or sale items, can have shorter windows or no returns.
- Holiday windows: some stores extend the window for holiday purchases. Check the exact date in the store's policy.
In the US, stores generally set their own return policies for change-of-mind returns, so the number of days varies by store. This tool does not know any store's policy. It only does the date sum for the window you enter.
Questions
Does this tool know my store's return policy?
No. You enter the number of days from your receipt or the store's page. The tool works out the date.
Where is my list saved?
Only in your browser on this device. It is not sent to CartFreeze. If you clear your browser data or use another device, the list will not be there.
How does the calendar reminder work?
The button downloads a small calendar file (.ics). Open it and your calendar adds an all-day event on the last day, with a reminder two days before.
What if the item is a gift or I lost the receipt?
Check the store's policy for gift receipts and lost receipts before the deadline, not after.
